In May 2013 I was given the unique opportunity to travel to South Korea with Furman University's Asian Studies and History departments. The focus of this trip was Korean culture and history. I traveled to numerous Buddhist temples, stayed in a traditional Korean village and spent time with Korean university students.
May 2014, I will be traveling to Japan with Furman's Asian Studies and Philosophy departments. This trip's focus is on traditional Japanese arts. I will be learning Aikido a Japanese martial art, traditional calligraphy and Japanese tea ceremony. Pictures to come!
For the 2014 fall semester, I will be going to school at Suzhou University in Suzhou, China. I will be taking language classes with Furman University professors as well as Chinese literature and society with Suzhou University professors. During this semester I will also be traveling to Tibet and Taiwan. Pictures to come!
